Evidently, over a year ago, I thought I'd be clever and so unique, and start a blog. I was spending an awful lot of time on the net reading other blogs, none of which I could ever hope to equal in terms of interesting content or clever writing. I think I figured that I could quietly start a blog, but not advertise it to anyone I know, and just see if (1) I could keep it going; (2) I could think of anything interesting to say; and (3) the world would discover me somehow, as I sit quietly in my corner, typing away. Guess which one happened? Exactly.
So after a hiatus from all of the attention, I thought I might try again, perhaps with an explanation for the blog name. The kids have had many nicknames for me through the years, each one of them bizarre (yes, the kids, but also the nicknames). Mee Momma Ha was one of them - I cannot for the life of me recall its genesis, but like most of the nicknames, it undoubtedly evolved from something else, also inevitably bizarre. The first strange nicknames never stick. They just keep getting weirder, until the caterpillar rests during its metamorphisis. Somehow, the caterpillar just never can make it to butterfly. It is only the strange unnatural mid-form creature that survives. I addition to Mee Momma Ha, I have been Rada Korum, Pecking Emu, and a host of others I wish I had written down.
